I help addicts and others to become aware of their actions that lead them down roads they are tired of traveling and let them see roads that are seldom taken so that they can lead more peaceful and self-directed lives.
Have you ever had any of these challenges:

  • Felt you were stuck in life just surviving, having those good days and looking to create more, but the circumstances or people in your life, just won’t cooperate.
  • Using alcohol or some other substance to make life bearable to get by and maybe noticing that just maybe it is not working anymore.
  • Using the internet, dating sites, porn, shopping sites or just surfing the internet for hours at a time. Some would swear that surfing the internet was your job!
  • Maybe you work many hours past quitting time or take work home with you so you can be with your family, but you may be home, but you are not with your family.
  • Maybe your past actions have you in debt and you are struggling with money from your actions past and present

Well me too!! I have struggled with substances and activities that would drain my energy and bank account. I was working to pay my bills and not knowing why I would find myself in the same place time after time and again and again and feeling completely out of control. On the outside, I was holding it together, good job, friends, very active life, but on the inside I was trying to numb pain the pain through substances or activities.

I had many signs and I do many signs that I did not see and some I just ignored. Some signs are more painful than others and denial did not seem to touch the pain I was experiencing. I reached my breaking point and I had to face my issues.

After I hit hard, I thought just make the pain go away! It did not. My defenses were shot, I could not find that comfort zone that had helped me ignore the pain in the past.

I started reading books, going to 12-step groups, attending weekend retreats, basically doing whatever it took to raise my awareness and awake from the nightmare I had created. I began to hang out with people who challenged me to raise my awareness and transform who I was to become a wiser and more aware individual.

I used to say, I found Toltec Wisdom by accident, but I now know that there are no accidents. I know it sounds hokey and cliched, but everything in my life has happened for me, not to me. It took a while for me to see that. I continued studying Toltec Wisdom under a number of don Miguel Ruiz’s apprentices waking up from a deep sleep of unawareness.

If any of these stories resonate with you, read on. I have not gone through what you are going though. Some people will quickly tell you “You don’t know what I feel or you don’t know what I’ve been through” and I agree and will add that we all have lies we have believed to be true.

What I do believe we have in common is that my life was no fun and I had no peace of mind. I was creating pain and suffering in my life through actions based on beliefs that were just not true.

That is one way I help others is to see their own lies they have been believing and how they are creating pain and suffering in their own lives.

I like to call it creating change with awareness. As awareness increases this can and will automatically reveal choices never seen before thus bringing more peace and happiness.

The thing I always found interesting in the group environment was the way I looked at myself, the addict. I do believe in the beginning most people do not want to really admit or own being an addict, so that is why I would say, “my name is Bill and I’m an addict” I know people will disagree with me and I must add I am so much more than an addict.

I integrate my teachings from many traditions and schools of thought to increase awareness in yourself so you can transform your life and create peace and happiness, easier and more quickly.

I look at myself as a Sober Coach, one who has played on the field and has gotten beaten, bruised, been there when the score looked like the game was over and worked hard to improve his own skills and the strengths in his team and had the strategies to pull the game out before the time runs out also known as your life.
